Leeds Carling
Weekend 2002
Well it was another cracking festival
with the highlight definitely being Guns'n'Roses but as per usual there was a down side.
"A quick message to all the w*nkers who wrecked the place, well
done, I'm sure brainless tw*ts like you really enjoy the sight of destruction (it probably
makes a change from sitting in your sad little bedrooms at mummy & daddy's house
playing with yourself). Anyway, when the festival doesn't go ahead next year it's because
of you, congratulations you've got what you wanted. All the rest of us who can have a good
time without breaking stuff had a good time & tried to respect our surroundings."
- Emlyn (Editor of Leeds365.com)
"I'm really pissed off
with the mindless violence at the end of the Leeds festival, there really was no need and
spoiled what was a superb weekend." - Dicky Allen (Sheffield)
"Well I had a fu****g
brilliant time @ the Leeds festival, stop moaning people! & Irish Derek if u happen 2
read this get in touch, we got split up on sun nite :)." - Claire (m'bro)
"Where do u start, the
amount of great bands, GnR, feeder, ash, offspring, foo fighters, janes addiction, white
stripes and so so many more. Whats more the weather wasn't that bad, food and beer was a
bit cheaper than expected. Myself and family really enjoyed the weekend of getting down
and dirty, drunk, and listening/seeing some great bands and music.
I only hope the idiots who thought it would be a good idea to set fire to the bogs and
generally tar us all with the image of mindless trouble makers. We are me 31, wife 38,
daughter 16 and her boy friend 17, think its a great weekend for the whole family, lets
hope we see all our old friends in 2003. Rock On." - Chris (Birmingham)
"My god they actually
showed up. Guns n Roses also played one of the best sets of the weekend, all is
forgiven. As for the small outbreaks of post-festival rioting it could've been worse
(woodstock '99 anyone?). You should be expecting that kind of conduct at a rock
festival. Anyway good weekend no drawbacks at all. lets hear some praise for
Andrew WK who put on the most energetic show ever." - David
