"Arts is Leeds' original Cafe Bar. Opened
in September 1994, initially as a bar and cafe orientated venue it has become a popular
destination for the diners and drinkers of Leeds, from a daytime sandwich or coffee, to
their full A La Carte menu options available both day and night. Offering around 50
covers, Arts has built a reputation on offering exceptionally high quality and interesting
cuisine in a relaxed and friendly environment, at affordable prices. You are always
assured of an attentive and welcoming service, while good (though certainly not obtrusive)
music is played. Arts specialises in Modern European and British Cuisine, and are open 7
days a week, from 11am-11pm. Reservations are taken at all times, except for Saturday and
Sunday daytimes until 5pm. Arts has established a
great reputation over the years, winning various awards, including Yorkshire Life's best
"City Restaurant 2002", while the Times newspaper has said "excellent
food......Leeds Cafe Society at is best!"
In addition to a full A La Carte menu Arts offers a range
of £5 lunch plates and excellent sandwiches, an extensive wine list, and a large
selection of non-alcoholic drinks including a full range of coffees, teas, smoothies,
juices, and non-alcoholic cocktails. In addition there are organic and fair trade options,
and the menu list is free of genetically modified foods.
In addition to the food and drink, Arts also exhibits art
work. "Art at Arts" is a contemporary exhibition space for all types of art,
concentrating on giving a space to local and regional artists. A typical length of
exhibition time is 6 weeks. For details of how to exhibit and to have your work
considered, you can contact the Art at Arts Coordinator, Jeannie Finn, via info@artscafebar.co.uk." - Ed Mason |
